TERMOMIX® Paddle Dryer / Reactor

The Termomix® vacuum paddle dryer / reactor is intended for monoproduction applications or bulk production facilities as mixer, reactor, precipitator and dryer.

The agitator is supported on both ends providing excellent mixing characteristics, with externally interchangeable stuffing boxes or mechanical seals.

Economic and robust multipurpose machine well suited for heavy industrial applications.

Inerting

Prior to feeding wet cake or slurry into the dryer the vessel interior is inerted by a controlled displacement of the oxygen containing atmosphere with Nitrogen. This procedure prevents the potential formation of an explosive atmosphere in the vessel interior.

Filling

After inertization is completed wet filter cake from a centrifuge or Nutsche filter, or dependent upon the application slurry is fed into the dryer.

When used as a reactor the required solid and liquid components are added. The reaction typically takes place at elevated temperatures and pressures.
Drying

For efficient drying the dryer is typically evacuated in steps and heated up at the same time. During the drying process the product is agitated. The dryer is maintained under vacuum and at the maximum allowable temperature for the product until the final required product humidity level is reached.
Cooling

After drying is completed the product is cooled down prior to discharging.
Discharging

The dried and cooled product is discharged thru the side discharge valve. The product is transported to the discharge valve by the agitator.
